The Collaborative OPen Omics (COPO) platform now supports metadata submissions to Zenodo. Through COPO, metadata such as single-cell from a spreadsheet can be submitted to Zenodo after they have been uploaded and validated in COPO.
Submissions to Zenodo occur when a row is selected in the data table of uploaded data and the Submit to Zenodo button is clicked. Once a submission is successful, an accepted status will be displayed in the Status for Zenodo column and the assigned unique identifier will appear in the Accession for Zenodo column. Thereafter, selecting a row then clicking the Publish to Zenodo button will make the selected data public.
COPO supports multiple submission types and any that are configured for Zenodo submissions and publications will provide the same functionality.
Key features include:
- Submissions receive DOIs which enable persistent referencing in publications
- Automatically generated citations are available on Zenodo in APA, Harvard, MLA, Vancouver, Chicago and IEEE formats
- Metadata can be exported in formats such as JSON, JSON-LD and BibTeX
- Submissions are versioned and this ensures that updates generate new, traceable versions.
- Data submitted to Zenodo is preserved long-term and this facilitates open access dissemination to other systems
- Improves reproducibility and data traceability - Sharing standardised metadata across research platforms is supported
Refer to the Where Your Submitted Data Goes section for information about other public repositories that COPO supports and Single-cell submission documentation for more information.
